Construction Manager

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

Planning and executing of site services personnel daily delivery tasks, HSSE compliance, vehicles & transportation, materials management including necessary tools and test equipment, third party specialised site services, overall logistics tracking of equipment, management of site storage facilities, overall back office / project services support (project daily / weekly reporting, rotations, accommodation, vehicles, materials / warehousing etc), Supervision of QA/QC & Completions (GOC).

The CONTRACTOR Telecoms Construction Manager will have the construction & commissioning technical knowledge on the following Telecommunications systems (but not limited too): SCS / FOC, CPT / FOTS, CCTV, LAN/WAN, ACS, PIDS/PIMS, SMS, IDAS, DMR, TNMS, CBNs (F&G, FVS, passive cooling, UPS, LAN / FOTS), to allow the full installation and commissioning plus the review and commenting on Engineering Telecoms design documents (AFC) to allow the mark- up of red lines, green lines and As Builts to be produced. To review design documents with Ops telecoms personnel, to ensure systems will be handed over as required.

Within the field Construction activities, the expectation is the requirement for clear and open communication with the Client Site Leads detailing current progress, future and highlighting any constraints / risks associated with the Telecommunications SOW delivered by the CONTRACTOR or associated contractors. Review the Telecoms Commissioning Test Procedures / SAT and is fully conversant with Company’s System Handover requirements. Respond to engineering site queries where clarification of design is required and liaise with TSD / engineering where an Engineering response to SEQ’s if required. Ensuring all telecoms construction & commissioning personnel carryout their work and are fully trained in accordance with site PTW procedures. Perform Performing Authority duties in accordance with PTW procedures. Responsible for the safety & management of all Telecoms personnel and vendors reps under their control when on-site. Coordinate Vendor call offs in accordance with construction and commissioning schedule ensuring vendors are mobilised when required. Encourage the development of, advice, coaching and training of all CONTRACTOR personnel.

Experience, Skills & Qualifications

· Must have a Telecom, Electronics or Electrical Engineering degree and/or substantial experience on major IT/Telecoms Construction & Commissioning Projects the Oil & Gas sector including: –

· A min 10 years’ overall experience in the IT/Telecom field including 5 years in supervisor of at least 15

· personnel

· at least 2 years design engineering experience with an Engineering Contractor

· FAT at supplier’s premises and SAT

· Construction and Commissioning & SH to Ops background

· Ability to communicate with colleagues, Client & contractors at all levels

· Experienced in people management and ability to drive team members to meet and exceed project / client expectations

· Working knowledge and practical application of Project Management methodologies and toolset

Strong technical knowledge of Data Networking, FOTS, Surveillance Systems (CCTV, ACS, PIDS/PIMS), Security

Management System / Operation Centre, IDAS, Digital Mobile Radios, Network Management, Telecom

Room/Shelter facilities e.g. UPS, Cooling Systems, Fire & Gas, and environment monitoring

Telecommunications Technician
