Muscat: Dr Hussein Ali Mwinyi, President of Zanzibar, met Omani and Zanzibari businessmen during Oman-Zanzibar Business Forum, which aims at promoting trade and economic relations as well as augmenting rates of trade exchange, according to Oman News Agency.
His Excellency Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, confirmed during the forum that the Sultanate of Oman has taken many measures to attract foreign investments and focus on several promising sectors for economic diversification.
His Excellency Eng Rida bin Juma Al Saleh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, indicated that the forum discussed ways to benefit from the economic and commercial components and the investment opportunities available in Oman and Zanzibar, and to look closely at the possibilities, incentives and facilities available to investors.
The President of Zanzibar calls on Omani businessmen to invest in the promising sectors that Zanzibar focuses on, such as tourism, the blue economy, oil and gas, and maritime trade, in light of the historical relations between Oman and Zanzibar.
