The 2022 edition of the UFI Global Congress will take place in Muscat on November 14-17, with the keynote by Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy (pictured), two-time Academy Award-winning film-maker, and director of the critically acclaimed Marvel Studio’s series Ms Marvel.
“We couldn’t be more proud to bring the industry to Oman for this year’s event. The Middle East, and Oman specifically, has shown significant investment and commitment to developing a world-class business-events ecosystem,” said UFI CEO, Kai Hattendorf.
Hosted by Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre (OCEC) in Muscat, this year’s Congress is the first UFI Global Congress in ten years to take place in the Middle East.
Offering unique content and keynote speakers from inside and outside the sector, the congress will look at the future of the industry. Alongside networking opportunities, attendees will have the chance to exchange lessons learnt, and gain new insights and ideas.

Exclusive to UFI members and hundreds of industry leaders from around the world are expected to attend, the Muscat edition is tracking to be among the largest ever gathering of leaders of the exhibition and business events industry.

As the sector continues its speedy recovery from the impact of the global pandemic, leaders from the regional and international exhibition sector will gather in Muscat.

According to eventindustrynews.com, Obaid Chinoy’s keynote will begin the Congress with an audio-visual journey about uncovering the unseen, and the entire programme will be expertly guided by former broadcast journalist Eithne Treanor.
In addition, the programme will cover topics such as the state of the economy, global risks and opportunities, and trends in the industry. It will also dive into transformational topics, like the industry’s sustainability agenda and talent narrative, as well as data and insights for creating serendipity.
