MUSCAT: The tropical cyclone Shaheen brought rains that had never been experienced in some wilayats of South and North Al Batinah governorates in so many years. Some wilayats have recorded unprecedented rainfall between October 2 and 4.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, the Wilayat of Al Khabourah has received the highest amount of rainfall with 360 millimetres in the last 11 hours followed by Al Suwaiq with 170 mm during the same duration.
When it comes to the cumulative amounts, Al Khabourah tops other wilayats with 369 mm followed by Al Suwaiq with 300 mm, Al Seeb with 222 mm, Saham with 214 mm, Barka with 203 mm and Bausher with 202 mm.
Though the Wilayat of Liwa is located near the impacted areas, it has registered only 2 mm of cumulative rain.
