Vaccination for target groups resumes at OCEC

Muscat: The Ministry of Health (MoH) has resumed vaccinating the target groups since Thursday and any person in the target group can get their jabs done at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Center (OCEC).

The prerogative to avail first or second dose of vaccine is to pre-register on Tarassud plus app and get their time slots booked, according to MoH officials in charge of the campaign.

“We have resumed the vaccination campaign which was stopped last week in the event of cyclone Shaheen which impacted some parts of the country,” the doctor in charge of vaccination told the Observer.

“Any person eligible for any dose of vaccine or those who above 12 years of age can pre-book a time slot between 8 am till 2 pm on all working days,” she added.

However, students from schools or colleges can get their registration done at counter number 4 which is dedicated to students.

“Any student above 12 can walk-in to get their vaccine after registering at counter 4 which is dedicated to facilitating students vaccination.”

Doctor Nihal Azizi, a Specialist and a social activist who has been an active name in rehabilitating the covid-19 patients and extending all possible support to them said we should continue taking precautions like wearing masks and follow social distancing but getting oneself vaccinated should be the most important step towards a corona-free society.

“We are not fully away from Coronavirus and all types of infections don’t show symptoms at once but takes time. What we can do is to continue wearing masks and continue social distancing but getting the two doses of vaccines should be the prime focus until we are totally free from the pandemic,” adds Dr Nihal.
