The Sultan Qaboos Comprehensive Cancer Care & Research Center (SQCCC) in Muscat Oman a Quaternary care level center providing care for adult patients with solid malignancies (No hematological malignancies).
SQCCC is seeking to appoint a Mammography Technician, who is a highly motivated individual to develop her/his professional career within the SQCCC.
The Department of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine in the Oncology Centre provides a high-level service in cancer diagnosis, staging, therapy, therapeutic monitoring and research. Our department features state of art equipment that includes: PET/CT, multi-slice quantitative SPECT/CT, Dual energy CT, 3T MRI, Ultrasound, angiography suite, General fluoroscopy and digital mammography with tomosynthesis, Iodine therapy ward.
The SQCCC is expected to open its doors to patients during the first quarter of 2021. The SQCCC is aspiring to be a high-tech center with innovative -patient and staff centered- technologies. A work environment that is fun and rewarding.
Qualification/Experience:
Bachelor degree in Radiography with at least 5-7 years of experience as Mammography technologist while performing screening and diagnostic mammograms, quality control, and breast specimen radiography OR
Master degree with at least 3 years of experience as Mammography technologist while performing screening and diagnostic mammograms, quality control, and breast specimen radiography
Documented proof in digital mammography.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Performs a variety of radiology mammography examinations, from screening mammograms to very difficult diagnostic mammogram.
Perform complimentary views including magnification and compression views.
Be able to assist the radiologist in stereotactic guide biopsy and needle localizations
Continuously monitors and documents the performance of the imaging equipment dedicated to mammography
Performs extensive quality control test at defined daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly intervals as required by the department.
Be able to adhere to infectious control policies.

- Medical Physicist Nuclear Medicine
Qualification /Experience:
Master degree in medical physics/related field.
Total of 5-7 years of experience as medical physicist in tertiary care center.
Previous experience in clinical nuclear medicine including hybrid imaging (i.e. PET/CT, SPECT/CT)
Previous experience in Quality Management System, Quality Assurance of Nuclear Medicine equipment and Quantitative Nuclear Medicine Imaging.
Able to use application of Internal Dosimetry, Absorbed dose and Effective dose estimation.
Able to work with optimization procedures in clinical practice and administered activities with appropriate diagnostic reference level.
The Nuclear Medicine/P.E.T. Physicist will be responsible for:
Managing the technical excellence and performance of all nuclear medicine counting and imaging equipment including positron emission tomography (PET), single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) as well as the computed tomography (CT) components of hybrid PET/CT and SPECT/CT systems.
Ensuring optimization of imaging parameters for routine and special imaging studies, particularly with respect to pediatric imaging.
Developing, implementing and managing a quality control program all nuclear medicine counting and imaging equipment including positron emission tomography (PET), single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) as well as the computed tomography (CT) components of hybrid PET/CT and SPECT/CT systems.
Providing consultation on the radiation dosimetry on the use of radiopharmaceuticals. This may be regarding dosimetry estimates for patients or prospective patients as well as for potential research protocols involving the use of radiopharmaceuticals. In addition, it may involve individualized dosimetry for patients preparing to receive radionuclide therapy (e.g. radioiodine for treatment of thyroid disease).
Supporting clinical research projects in nuclear medicine with technical expertise by initiating programs. Developing physics research projects in nuclear medicine and molecular imaging for presentation at national meetings and publication in peer reviewed journals.
Participating in training in areas of imaging, dosimetry, and instrumentation.
External and internal occupational radiation monitoring and radiation safety including management of radioactive sources, radioactive waste management, Unintended and accidental exposure in nuclear medicine, workload and local shielding assessment.
Acceptance tests/ Commission, routine testing / Quality control, annual survey, of diagnostic radiology such as radiography, angiography and fluoroscopic system, computed tomography, mammography and ultrasound imaging equipment.

3.Medical Physicist Diagnostic Radiology
Qualifications/Experience:
Master degree in medical physics/related field.
Hands-on experience with all x-ray (CT, Mammography, Interventional radiology, DR, CR, etc) and ultrasound imaging equipment

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- MRI Technologist
Qualification/Experience:
Bachelor degree in Radiography with at least 5-7 years of experience as MRI technologist
OR
Master degree in MRI with at least 3 years of experience as MRI technologist.
Candidate with experience of working with 3 Tesla machines will be preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The MRI Technologist will plan, monitor and provide MRI examinations as protocoled by the radiologist without direct supervision.

Explains the exam process to each patient.
Checks equipment, supplies and accessories on a regular basis. Communicates any problems or requests for supplies to appropriate supervisor.
Maintains orderly and clean work environment; provides a safe environment for all patients.
Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings and workshops.
Performs all other tasks as assigned to maintain an efficient, organized MRI department and provide the highest level of patient care.
Performs all other duties as assigned or requested.
