Muscat: Camel competitions will kick off in the Wilayat of Thumrait, Dhofar Governorate, on Saturday.
The activities is being organised organised by the Royal Camel Corps at the Royal Court Affairs within the annual camel race festival for the 19th Season 2021/2022.
The contests includes traditional beauty contests of Al Mahalabah, Al Muzayanah and the camel race competitions. The activities would last for six days.
The competitions would commence with the two days’ contest of Al Mahalabah, which includes nine rounds; three for the category of Al Omaniyat, three for the category of Al Hazami and three rounds for the category of Al Dharayib. Al Muzayanah contest would continue from Sunday to Wednesday and includes various rounds for the different categories.
The last two days would see the race competitions for the various categories and includes thirteen rounds on Wednesday and five rounds on Thursday.
