Muscat: The Sultan Qaboos Comprehensive Cancer Care and Research Centre has launched a “Health Information System” for the management of medical and administrative data in health establishments.
The system is the first service of its kind to be introduced in the Sultanate of Oman. Dr Zahid Abdullah al Manthri, Senior Consultant of Radiological Tumor Treatment and Chairman of Clinical data at the Centre, told Oman News Agency that the new system is a comprehensive service utilizing artificial intelligence to offer quick and highly accurate information about patients.
It covers e-medical reports, a documentation of analyses and a schedule of appointments in coordination with the sections concerned. A workshop was held about the new system and its role in facilitating the mission of medical staff. –ONA
