- Instructor – Operations Training Simulator (OTS – SRU Specialist)
Key Accountabilities
Conduct training on the SRU Process OTS for PDO operations delegates as scheduled by the Training Coordinator and Operations teams.
Compliance of training delivery to Petrofac Training International standards, policy and methodology.
Ensuring that training is delivered in a professional manner as per Lesson Plans and Risk assessments.
Provision of periodical reports relevant the training activity delivered.
Applying safe working procedures at all times, particularly within the practical training environment.
Liaising with the Training Coordinator and Operations teams to ensure readiness of equipment and personnel for training
Carry out trainees’ assessment. Registering and monitoring of trainees attendance and timekeeping.
Maintain records of training delivered.
Carry out any further duties as directed by the management to ensure the efficient running of the operational readiness training.
Discussion, as required, with delegates, in order that they better understand and achieve course outcomes.
Assistance in the development and design of new and existing courses.
De-briefing of delegates after scenarios, to highlight their strengths and weaknesses and to ensure that they achieve scenario outcomes.
Efficient operation of the simulator, to maximise the training value of each scenario.
Maintenance and supervision of simulator and course materials, so that deficiencies can be brought to the attention of appropriate personnel for correction.
On-going coaching of the operations teams during pre-ops and early operational phases of the project.
Knowledge
Knowledge, Skills & Experience expected:
Current up to date knowledge of own subject matter expertise including the use of new technologies
Current knowledge of international best practice in the field of OTS training
Current knowledge of international standards
Skills
Ability to communicate at all levels within both internal and external organisations
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
Ability to work as part of a team and to actively participate in all team events
Mandatory Requirements
Minimum 15 years’ experience in related field and specialty with experience into International Major
Oil & Gas Companies in Operational Environment.
Operational Experience in Control Room Operations.
Operational Experience with Claus Sulphur Recovery Process.
Training Experience in delivering training using Operations Simulators (OTS)
Ability to be able to deliver training clearly and fluently in English language.
Desirable Requirements
Diploma in Technical Subject (BTEC, NVQ, HND).
Experience in Onshore Oil & Gas upstream preferably in desert plants.
