Sr. Director of Pricing, Costing and Profitability
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Implements best practices in price, cost, and profitability management, including the development of accurate pricing and costing models for all plants.
Provides leadership for all plants for pricing, costing, quoting and profitability analysis.
Develops, maintains, and communicates both qualitative and quantitative pricing/costing/profitability tools and analytics.
Develops, manages and implements all trainings, training materials and collateral to ensure global, regional, and local success and compliance.
Provides leadership and ownership of pricing goals.
Creates and leads constructive interaction between and across global, regional, area, and local organizations.
Works with operations management, sales operations, sales, finance and others to identify ‘as quoted’ analysis and identify opportunities to improve margin enhancements, win rates, operational efficiencies, and cost competitiveness.
Leads improvements in the regional contract administration process that balance price accuracy with speed-to-market abilities
Collaborates with operations and functional business process teams to understand and define real cost-to-serve, and incorporate costs into pricing decision processes.
Manage department workflow to ensure all targets and deadlines are met.
Respond to field inquiries related to the above functions and other departmental operations.
Work with and through regional leaders, plant managers and plant champions to ensure success, accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
Education And Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in either a technical or financial discipline with 10-15 years of overall experience
Must be well organized, manage several projects simultaneously, set priorities, team within and outside organization, and meet required deadlines.
Candidate must understand estimating principles and recognize opportunities for business improvement.
Candidate must also have working knowledge of analogous and parametric estimating techniques, complexity factors and cost estimating relationships (CERs).
Ability to effectively present findings to senior management in a clear and concise manner
Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks in a dynamic environment, proven problem solving, leadership and interpersonal skills and be a proven team player, who is highly organized and achievement-oriented.
Creative thinker with the capability to think out of the box.
Provide financial insight to the business through analytical insight, financial modeling, and other tools to aid in reaching the appropriate financial decisions for the business.
Ability to work closely with the finance and accounting staffs while driving a results-oriented culture and an atmosphere of accountability.
Drive operational and financial performance through analysis of financial results and key performance indicators including orders visibility, pricing scenarios, margin analytics and product/segment profitability
Demonstrate organizational and time management skills in dealing with competing priorities, deadlines, and in handling multiple tasks.
