Muscat: The Ministry of Health (MOH) has issued a statement regarding what was circulated on social media platforms about the possible presence of the mutated Omicron variant of the coronavirus in the Sultanate of Oman.
MOH said in a statement that the Ministry of Health followed up what was circulated on social media about the possibility of the presence of Omicron in the Sultanate. In this regard, the Ministry would like to emphasise that it has not detected the presence of this mutation so far, and that the epidemiological surveillance system is effective and is monitoring the epidemiological situation in the Sultanate.
The Ministry calls upon all citizens and residents to follow preventive measures such as social distancing, avoiding crowded places, wearing masks in closed places, maintaining hand hygiene, as well as expediting to receive the booster dose for the eligible age groups. It also calls upon everyone to take correct information from official sources.
