Description
ROLE PURPOSE: Create and maintain new connections between source systems and Big Data Lake, Perform basic data management and staging operations on raw data
Work in close cooperation with Data Scientists.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & ACTIVITIES:1.Responsibilities / Duties:• Maintain and develop data ingestion pipeline for Data Lake.
• On-board new data sources and help Data Scientists with configurations.
• Analyze and translate functional requirements/ change requests into technical specifications.
• Troubleshoot and remedy data quality issues raised by Data Scientists.
• Create / execute unit tests.
• Contribute to anomaly detection and alerting tools evolution in the pipeline (both real-time and batch).
• Design and maintain schema for persistence layer, including partitioning.
• Design analytical models based on roadmap of use cases.
• Develop CVM campaigns concept based on performance and market.
• Define campaign objectives, KPIs and target segments.2.Behavioral Competencies:• Knowledge of Big Data Ecosystem: Hadoop (HDFS, YARN), Spark (PySpark/Scala, MLlib, GraphX), Hive/Presto/Impala.
• Knowledge of Big Data connectivity.
• Solid knowledge of R, SQL, Python, MapReduce, etc.
• Understanding of complex algorithms and data structures.
• Expertise in data management.
• Interest in Data Science and willingness to learn new tools and solutions.
• Knowledge of an object-oriented programming language (C#, F#, Java).
• Conform to agile IT development procedures.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:• Big Data batch connectors (for e.g. Sqoop).
• Big Data streaming connections (for e.g. Kafka, Flume)
• Fluent in FTP connectivity.
• Knowledge of SQL.
• Knowledge of Data Science concepts.
• Hadoop programing languages: Spark/Scala/Hive etc.
Qualifications
EDUCATTION & EXPERIENCE:• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field (preferred Math, Computer Science, Economics, Physics, Operational Research or related).
• A minimum of 7 years’ experience.
