Muscat: Dr. Saif bin Salim al Abri, Director General of Disease Control at the Ministry of Health, said the number of inpatients in hospitals is expected to increase following the recent surge in the daily cases. He was speaking at the press conference of the Supreme Committee.
If the number of inpatients increases, this will put pressure on the health system, he said at the press conference.
Al Abri said that vaccines and adherence to preventive measures protect and reduce the risk of infection with the Coronavirus, including the new Omicron variant.
MOH reports 69 patients in the last 24 hours. One patient was admitted to the hospital, bringing the total to 11, including two cases in intensive care units.
