Muscat: The latest weather analysis in the National Multi-Hazard Early Warning Centre indicates that the Sultanate of Oman will be affected by a trough of the low-pressure area starting from Wednesday, December 29, lasting for several days, Oman Meteorology said in an alert.
The weather will be cloudy over the governorates of Musandam, North al Batinah with chances of rain (50-100 mm) occasionally thundershowers, fresh winds, flash floods and wadis, with a chance of cloud advection over governorates of South al Batinah, Muscat, AI Buraimi, Al Dahirah, Al Dakhliyah, South al Sharqiya and North al Sharqiyah (10-25 mm).
Moderate sea condition along most of the Sultanate coasts with a maximum wave height of 2.0 meters becoming rough during thundershowers in the coastal areas of Musandam, Governorate, and Sea of Oman coasts with a maximum wave height of three meters.
The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has advised all to take precautions during rain and wadis and to check the sea state before sailing.
