RAKHYOUT: The Wadi Afoul bridge in the Wilayat of Rakhyout in Dhofar Governorate, the financial allocation of which was approved by the Tender Board recently, will ease vehicular movement between Salalah and the wilayats of Rakhyout and Dhalkout and boost economic activities.
In comments to ONA, Shaikh Issa bin Ahmed al Maashani, Wali of Rakhyout, said the bridge project is among the projects that have recently been approved by the Tender Board and constitutes a shift in terms of services and development aspects.
The bridge will play a significant role in solving the issue of road block and traffic and disruption of traffic movement to the west of Dhofar Governorate during wadi overflowing and the international road linking the Sultanate of Oman and Yemen, the wali said.
Engineer Yusef bin Salim al Mashaikhi, representative of the Wilayat of Rakhyout at Majlis Ash’shura, said that the announcement of the bridge project was good news to the residents of the wilayats of Rakkyout and Dhalkout. The implantation of Wadi Afoul bridge has a great importance in terms of future development and services in the west of Dhofar Governorate. — ONA
