Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik on Tuesday addressed the nation on the occasion of the second anniversary of his accession to the throne.
Highlights from the royal speech.
His Majesty: “Loyal sons of Oman… our sincere patriotic efforts have always been a matter of honor and pride, and we would like in this regard to record a word of praise and pride for all our military and security services for their honorable national roles in protecting the homeland.
His Majesty: “Dear citizens. Elevating Oman to the lofty heights it deserves is a national duty and a great trust, and every citizen has a role to play in this regard.”
His Majesty: “Dear citizens. Our beloved country had exposed to climatic conditions several times, and in our keenness to provide the highest levels of protection and care for our citizens and residents, we direct the government to expedite the early warning system, support and development that put economic growth, financial sustainability, and the well-being of society at the forefront of it.”
His Majesty: “We will be keen, during the next stage, of our renewed renaissance, to move government performance from the level of compelling solutions to another, more permanent, level in which a set of comprehensive solutions will be established.
Within its five-year plans, the development movement is integrated; to include all parts of our dear homeland.
It ensures that development is directed to the governorates and works to enhance their readiness for investment and to develop their local role, based on the comparative advantage that characterizes each governorate, in order to create local development models, and this will be complemented by a number of strategic projects, implemented by the government.
His Majesty: “Our country enjoys competitive advantages, great capabilities, and promising opportunities that should be exploited, and the government and all state institutions will harness all their efforts and energies in cooperation and integration.
“In all fields, we look forward to our country being a leading investment destination, especially in the fields that reinforce our orientations aimed at expanding the size of our national economy and diversifying sources of income.”
His Majesty: Local investment is one of the important pillars for diversifying national sources of income, after we launched many national programs and created a supportive environment, we urge the investment of capital locally.
Those who wish to establish their own projects; We are determined to take their hand and encourage entrepreneurship programs and provide the necessary support and incentives to small and medium enterprises, given their pivotal role in revitalizing the economic movement and providing more job opportunities.
As the main engine of the economy and development; to provide job opportunities for our qualified sons and daughters, and to rehabilitate those who need them with the necessary skills; to engage in the labor market, as for our sons and daughters are pioneers and women entrepreneurs.
His Majesty: “We were rejoiced at what was accomplished in the employment file, during the past year, to employ our children despite the difficult stage, and we look forward with firm hope that all sectors of the state will play the role of employment, and that the private sector plays a role in it.
