The Royal address to the nation is a great impetus to the development initiatives and welfare of the peoples of the Sultanate of Oman, says the Chairman and Board of Directors of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI).
“The Royal speech is a direction to move forward with the Renewed Renaissance and achieve the objectives of comprehensive development,” said Eng Ridha Juma Saleh, Chairman, OCCI.
He added that the Royal speech has touched upon almost all comprehensive development areas and is a clear road map for the future.
“The speech has foreseen the improvement of economic and financial performance along with the sustainability of the state’s ability to meet its financial obligations which is encouraging to take more economic stimulus policies.”
“The private sector is taken into confidence to intensify its performance on the next stage, based on its responsibilities as a key and effective partner in the development process as it is the main engine of the economy,” the OCCI Board of Directors said in a statement.
The board evaluated that the high interest shown by His Majesty in young entrepreneurs who wish to establish their projects represents an excellent precursor to the business sector. Both male and female entrepreneurs can look forward to receiving all support from the government, which will spare no effort to encourage entrepreneurship programmes and provide the necessary support and incentives.
The OCCI Chairman further said that the Royal speech identifies local investment as one of the important pillars for diversifying sources of national income which is a generous invitation from His Majesty to invest capital locally and seize the opportunities and advantages that the Sultanate enjoys, especially in sectors related to economic diversification.
