Muscat: The Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion (MOCIIP) carried out an inspection campaign that covered 334 fuel stations in various governorates.
During the inspection, 49 violations were registered, which included failure to provide air filling machines for tires, non-compliance with the cleanliness of toilets, lack of shopping stores in some stations, and poor appearance.
The ministry said that the provider of facilities must commit to the requirements laid out for the establishment of fuel filling stations, which include providing basic public facilities such to all motorists, that include several foreign tourists.
The company while setting up new fuel filling stations, especially on highways and expressways, must ensure that the following facilities are in place.
Mosques for both men and women
Toilets
A commercial building that includes a restaurant or café
Convenient stores
Pharmacy
Automated Teller Machine (ATM)
Car wash
Information desk
Primary mechanical service
Parking for cars and trucks
Parking spaces for the disabled
Rest houses and hotels
