Muscat: There has been an increase in blood units collected in the Central Blood Bank in Bausher for the fifth year in a row. The number of units collected went up by 14 percent in 2021, compared to the previous year.
The Department of Blood Banks Services (DBBS) at the Ministry of Health (MOH) said that the percentage of Omani blood donors was 74.2 percent, and the percentage of voluntary blood donations was 95.9 percent.
DBBS said that despite the difficulties faced by blood banks during the pandemic, the number of blood units collected in the Central Bank in 2021 was 32,754, while the number of blood units donated was 3,763.
