MUSCAT: The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology has issued guidelines affixing the responsibilities of the different parties involved in the carriage of goods in accordance with the provisions of the Land Transport Law issued by Royal Decree 10/2016 and its executive regulations aimed at regulating logistics services in the Sultanate of Oman.
The guidelines set out protocols establishing the transfer of liability for the goods from the sender to the carrier – a move aimed at raising the quality of services and preserving the rights of all parties to a road transport contract.
The Ministry has urged all carriers to comply with the specified guidelines by issuing
a transport document for each transfer based on a proforma available on the www.naql.om transport platform, after ascertaining the safety and nature of the goods listed for carriage. — ONA
