Oman reports 5 deaths in 24 hours, 2,335 cases

Muscat: The Ministry of Health (MOH) on Wednesday reported 2,335 new cases and five deaths.

The total number of cases registered in the Sultanate has now reached 344,043, including 4,153 deaths.

The total number of recoveries is 317,584 while the recovery rate is 92.3 percent.

In the last 24 hours, 103 patients were admitted to hospitals across the Sultanate of Oman, and the total number of inpatients is 339, including 50 in the Intensive Care Units (ICU).

Cases have been on the surge despite some of the restrictions announced by the Supreme Committee on January 21.

The Supreme Committee had reduced attendance in government offices to 50 percent and halted Friday prayers after reviewing the pandemic situation.

The SC has suspended all conferences and exhibitions.

Five daily prayers were allowed in mosques with 50 percent capacity in line with the procedures announced by the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs in coordination with the Ministry of Health.
