Muscat: His Highness Sayyid Asaad bin Tariq Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs and Special Representative of His Majesty the Sultan, sponsored the official opening ceremony of Duqm Port, in the presence of King Phillippe Leopold Louis Marie, King of the Belgians.
His Excellency the Vice-President of the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones affirmed in his speech that the Duqm Port project represents an important tributary in the Omani economy and is a major driver for the projects under construction and under construction within the Oman 2040 vision and the renewed renaissance led by His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik.
He indicated that one of the most important components of the operation of this port are container cranes and bridge cranes, preparing the port of Duqm to deal with the largest container ships in the world. The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Belgian Antwerp Port Authority explained in her speech that since 2010, the International Port of Antwerp has been able to follow the remarkable developments of the Port of Duqm project, which has all the potential to become a success story.
