License granted for on-demand taxi service

MUSCAT: The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, has granted license to Ubar Smart Cities to provide on-demand taxi services through smart phone app for both instantaneous or pre-booking systems. The license involves the services of basic and economic trips as well as shared taxi for four passengers in a single ride and different destinations. Other services include scheduled trips, taxi reservation on hourly basis and ladies-only taxi. The smart application allows tracking, monitoring and recording of trips in addition to other details that include cost, vehicle model and number plate.
