Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik on Thursday chaired the Council of Ministers meeting at the Al-Baraka Palace.
His Majesty, during the cabinet meeting, ordered to pay an additional allowance to social security categories with the beginning of the blessed month of Ramadhan and to work to mitigate the impact of the high prices of goods and services on them.
His Majesty directs to expedite the review of social programs and the basis for calculating social security allocations to provide an adequate standard of living for these groups.
His Majesty directs the establishment of an economic zone in Rawda in the Wilayat of Mahdah in the Buraimi Governorate, to develop the local economy in particular and the governorate in general by establishing projects, attracting investments, and capital that will create job opportunities for citizens.
To complement the previous directives of His Majesty to stimulate the national economy, activate the investment environment, and follow up on commercial and industrial activities and the conditions of private sector companies, to reduce some fees related to the labor sector.
His Majesty stressed the need to listen to the needs of citizens and to pay attention to all social sectors, especially social security groups and people with limited income.
Ukraine Crisis
His Majesty the Sultan while presiding over the cabinet meeting, said that the Sultanate of Oman is following up with great concern and regret the outcome of the Ukrainian crisis, stressing the need to return to diplomacy and resort to dialogue and peaceful negotiations between the parties to the crisis on the basis of the United Nations Charter.
His Majesty the Sultan affirms the Sultanate of Oman’s continued keenness on positive cooperation with all brotherly and friendly countries in various beneficial fields in a manner that promotes mutual interests.
