Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman is the seventh-best tourist destination in the world due to various factors environmental richness, biodiversity, and the unique nature of its reserves, said the Government Communication Centre (GC).
The GC said the Sultanate has several natural reserves that include a variety of wildlife and marine life, including Daymaniyat Islands Reserve, which is considered the best place for diving and snorkeling to see sharks, whales, dolphins, and coral reefs.
Al Saleel Natural Park is one of the largest sites in the Middle East, which is considered a habitat for the Arabian gazelle. Khor Salalah Reserve is the best place to see the birds in the Sultanate.
Other attractions include the Jabal Samhan Nature Reserve in the Dhofar Governorate for the Arabian leopard. It is located in the Governorate of Dhofar.
For tourists, the Sultanate of Oman offers plenty of options for snorkeling, diving, dolphin and turtle watching, more than 100 species of
wild plants and trees, eight types of mammals, more than 30 species of wild birds, and 180 species of birds.
