ROP dominate horse literature competition

The fourth horse literature competition for the season 2021-2022 concluded at the Al Rahba field in Barka, organised and supervised by the Oman Equestrian Federation.

The competition witnessed the participation of 27 horses from various government cavalry units and private stables. The open category saw three participants, the second category allocated for new and youth witnessed 10 horses in action and the third category for girls and under 16 years saw 9 riders in action and the fourth category, the intermediate category, was competed by 5 horses.

This season witnessed an increase in the number of riders and horses. The conclusion of the competition was sponsored by Ahmed bin Saif al Abri, Secretary-General and Chairman of the Competitions Committee of the Oman Equestrian Federation. Also present was Dr Yousuf bin Sulaiman al Wahaibi, Treasurer and Acting Executive Director of the OEF.

The winners in the four categories were presented awards at the end of the competition.

In the open category, three horses participated, rider Bassam bin Nasser al Ghabshi won the first place on ‘Abab’ from the Royal Oman Police (ROP), Salah bin Khalfan al Balushi of ROP on the ‘Amwaj’ claimed the second place.

In new and youth category, with 10 participants, ROP’s Rashid bin Amer al Mashaikhi won the first place on ‘Furat’, ROP’s Musa al Ramadhani on ‘Andalus’ was second, ROP’s Rashid bin Amer al Mashaikhi on ‘Jenan’ came third.

In the Girls category, under 16 years old with nine participants, ROP claimed the top three prizes. Fatima al Shanawiyah claimed top spot on ‘Emtethal’, Ibtihal al Riyamiyah on ‘Tamara’ was second and Ahlam al Shuaibiyah on ‘Nazik’ finished third.

The Intermediate category was the last in the competitions with five horses in fray and ROP swept the top three places.

Majid al Sulaimani on ‘Ramla’ finished on top, followed by Idris al Ameri on ‘Halim’ and Bassam bin Nasser al Ghabshi on ‘Ragheb’.
