Ministry of Health launches educational app for organ transplantation

Muscat: Under the patronage of His Excellency Dr Ahmed bin Muhammad bin Obaid Al-Saidi, Minister of Health, the Royal Hospital will inaugurate an educational electronic application for organ transplantation on Sunday morning, in the presence of a number of medical personnel, in the main hall of the hospital.

The Ministry of Health said: “The educational application aims to define the mechanism of expressing a desire to donate organs in the Sultanate, highlighting the harms and consequences of trading in human organs, correcting many misconceptions about donation after death, and confirming the conditions for donation of relatives.”

The application also aims to provide all medical information when transplanting kidneys and livers, in addition to answering frequent inquiries related to special groups such as children, adolescents, pregnant and lactating women.
