MUSCAT: Majlis Ash’shura will be hosting Her Excellency Dr Laila bint Ahmed al Najar, Minister of Social Development, to deliver her ministry’s statement during the council’s 12th regular meeting to be held on Monday.
This was stated by Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed al Nadabi, Secretary-General of Majlis Ash’shura.
He added that the minister of social development’s statement will contain four axes, the first of which deals with the social protection system in accordance to the programme of the Tenth Five-Year Development Plan whereas the second axis deals with the services provided to persons with disabilities. The third axis deals with family and social development and the fourth one contains the ministry’s efforts to regulate the civil work and societies and charitable activities.
The secretary-general of Majlis Ash’shura said that the council will convene its 11th regular meeting on Sunday, adding that the session will see the oath taking of the new council member representing the Wilayat of Salalah, who will replace Abdullah bin Hussain al Mashhoor Ba Omar who passed away on February 27.
The agenda of the eleventh regular meeting includes discussing and approving the draft amendments of some provisions of the Notary Public Law, approving the vision of the Economic and Financial Committee on the draft agreement for linking payment systems between the government of the Sultanate of Oman and the GCC countries.
The meeting will discuss an expressed desire to increase the monthly pensions reimbursed to social security families in light of the opinion of the Services and Social Development Committee.
This is in addition to the expressed desire on bringing the commercial registration and affiliation certificates under Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry and unifying their fees in light of the opinion of the Economic and Financial Committee, an expressed desire regarding the imposition of fees for disconnecting and reconnecting water service in light of the opinion of the Services and Social Development Committee.
