Mwasalat-SalamAir pact for free shuttle service

SalamAir has signed an agreement with Mwasalat to run a free shuttle bus service from Suhar to Muscat International Airport for its passengers.

Starting from May 10, 2022, and operating on all days of the week, the Mwasalat bus will leave at 6 pm from Suhar Mwasalat bus stop and arrive at 9 pm at Muscat International Airport.

This is the first time that a local airline has signed an agreement with Mwasalat to start a free bus shuttle service for its passengers.

Continuing to add convenience to passengers, Mwasalat bus service facility is now integrated into SalamAir’s booking engine, and passengers can book the service on all booking platforms.

Captain Mohamed Ahmed, CEO of SalamAir, said, “We are pleased to tie up with Mwasalat to start a free shuttle service for our passengers coming from Suhar and surrounding areas to board our flights in Muscat. SalamAir is the first airline to add this service in Oman. We have started this initiative to provide a convenient local travel facility for our passengers.”

He added, “We are delighted to sign this agreement with the esteemed government organisation Mwasalat, which will allow us to enhance our customer experiences. We are happy to contribute to developing the country’s transport industry and support Mwasalat’s call for public transport buses because of its economic, social and environmental importance to an individual and society.”

Oman National Transport Company “Mwasalat” has been engaged in offering a modern and efficient public transport system, committed to cutting edge technology. In addition, it is working on a daily base with its stakeholders in providing a world-class public transport service with a standard that translates Oman vision 2040.

Badar Mohammed al Nadabi, Acting Chief Executive Officer of Mwasalat said, “We are delighted to sign the agreement with SalamAir, one of the fastest-growing low-cost carriers in the region. We are keen to ensure the comfort of SalamAir passengers travelling between Suhar and Muscat aboard sophisticated, safe and comfortable Mwasalat buses. This agreement indicates the significant value SalamAir sees in our services.”

SalamAir recently launched direct flights from Suhar Airport to international destinations Shiraz and Jeddah. The airline is honoured to support the development of local airports like Suhar in Oman by adding direct international flights. The flight offers more options and convenience for passengers, and companies in and around the Suhar region.

SalamAir meets the nation’s growing demand for affordable travel options and aims to generate further opportunities for employment and business creation in various sectors in Oman. In a short span, SalamAir has achieved growth in its operations and has expanded its reach across the region serving customers across a cross-section of society.

SalamAir has been engaged in improving its online check-in, website, and travel agent portals. The airline has also been involved in additional training in ground operations and handling in addition to cross-functional training aspects to boost productivity and readiness. Showcasing safety as its first priority, SalamAir has put in place a stringent set of measures to ensure a high-quality sanitation process. Its new fleet being used right now has leather seats that are non-porous and easy to disinfect. In addition, every surface in the aircraft is disinfected using approved cleaning agents, be it the doors, windows, seats, foldable tables, baggage cabins, or seat hand rests.

SalamAir flies to domestic destinations including Muscat, Salalah, Suhar and international destinations to Dubai, Doha, Riyadh, Jeddah, Medina, Dammam, Kuwait, Bahrain, Trabzon, Kathmandu, Baku, Shiraz, Tehran, Istanbul, Alexandria, Khartoum, Multan, Sialkot, Karachi, Dhaka, Chattogram, Jaipur, Trivandrum, and Lucknow. SalamAir also flies directly from Suhar to Shiraz, Jeddah, Salalah, and Salalah, Jeddah, Medina, and Calicut.
