Muscat: Muscat Municipality requires the establishment of hairdressing salon and women’s beauty centres on the ground floor and first floor only in residential commercial buildings and commercial buildings for new permits.
Muscat Municipality said in a statement: “Based on Muscat Municipality endeavours to organise licenses for women’s beauty salons activities in multi-storey buildings in a manner that serves the public interest and does not affect the people living in these buildings, it is necessary to highlight the following:
1. Issuing new licenses for hairdressing and women’s beauty salons and centres or similar activities in multi-storey buildings shall be restricted to ground floor and commercial-residential properties and commercial properties.
2. The licenses will be renewed for hairdressing and women’s beauty centres activities that are currently located in higher floors provided that the ownership of these activities are not transferred or reassigned to others.
