Muscat: The Ministry of Education, represented by the Centre for Vocational Guidance and Student Guidance, on Sunday signed a cooperation agreement with the Zubair Centre for Institutional Development. The agreement aims at developing and designing entrepreneurship training programmes for students in grades 9-12, and training those in charge of mentoring services to present these programmes to students. The signing of the agreement took place in Khasab Hall in the Ministry’s Headquarter.
The agreement was signed by Sana bint Saud al Busaidiyah, Councillor to the Minister of Education, and the Acting Director-General of the Centre for Vocational Guidance and Student Guidance at the Ministry; and Saeed bin Salem al Sahib, Head of Zubair Centre for Institutional Development.
On the importance of this agreement, Al Busaidiyah said: “The culture of entrepreneurship falls within the priorities of the Centre for Vocational Guidance and Student Guidance, as it is an enabling tool for students to launch their lives. Hence, comes the Ministry’s cooperation with the Zubair Centre for Institutional Development, as it is one of the national expertise houses in this field. The centre designs and develops entrepreneurship training programmes for students in grades 9-12, in addition to training the guidance centre staff, to provide these programmes with high efficiency and an attractive and motivating method for these students, to achieve the desired goals. We highly value the cooperation with the local private sector to serve the new generations and provide them with the knowledge they need to succeed in the future.”
Al Sahib, Head of the Zubair Centre for Enterprise Development, said: “We are very appreciative for choosing the Zubair Centre to carry out this mission to enable our students to start their own projects, armed with the necessary knowledge and experience. We have taken upon ourselves to help the entrepreneurship sector, based on our belief in its pivotal role in the economic system of the Sultanate of Oman, and we look forward to seeing many successful ideas and projects from these young and enthusiastic minds, to provide them with knowledge and advisory support, to enable them to compete and grow locally and globally, as well as help them promote their products in the target markets.”
