MUSCAT: The Ministry of Education, represented by the Directorate-General of Private Schools, Early Education Department, has started the training seminar on “Correcting the recitation of the Holy Quran (Juz Amma) for early education stage teachers”. The seminar, being held at Al Awael Private School (Al Khoudh Branch) over five consecutive days, is attended by 25 teachers from the schools of Al Seeb and Bausher.
The training will focus on correcting the teachers in different aspects of recitation, including the “obvious melody and hidden melody” in the recitation, and learning the right intonation and pronunciation.
The seminar follows the supervisory visits carried out by the Technical Supervision Department, which found that there is a need for corrections in terms of recitation and intonation among early education teachers. The training also aims to ensure the correct recitation of the surahs (Al Fatihah and Juz Amma) by the teachers with the right tongue position and intonation.
