Muscat: The American Cleft Palate Craniofacial Association ( ACPA ) has included an Omani Cleft Palate and Craniofacial Team within its approved teams lists, said Ministry of Health (MOH).
According to MOH, the Omani team is the fifth team at the Middle East level and one of the thirtieth international treatment team worldwide. The joint team comprised various multidisciplinary Omani physicians and para medical cadres from Khoula Hospital and Sultan Qaboos University Hospital ( SQUH ).
The team leaders are Dr. Taimoor Al Bulushi , Senior Consultant Plastic Surgery in Khoula Hospital and Dr. Muntaser Al Hinaei , Senior Consultant Orthodontics. It is worth mentioning that the joint team between Khoula Hospital and SQUH treats hundreds of such cases annually from in Oman and internationally.
