Salalah: The media delegation comprising reporters from Arab and foreign news agencies on Wednesday visited Al Bashayer Meet Company in the Wilayat of Thumrait, Governorate of Dhofar.
At Al Bashayer, the reporters listened to a briefing by Eng. Abdullah Musallam Al Rowas, Maintenance Manager. They later went on tour of the firm’s facilities.
Al Bashayer is a comprehensive red meat production unit, the first of its kind in the Sultanate of Oman.
It was established to serve as a sustainable resource that contributes to self-sufficiency in food security. It focuses on cattle meat and poultry that are marketed locally and abroad.
The reporters also visited the Wadi Doka Nature Reserve, 40 km away from the Wilayat of Salalah. It is a large park housing luban (frankincense) trees and registered in the World Natural Heritage list of luban sites.
