Muscat: Nizwa Castle ranked first in terms of the number of visitors among the castles of the Sultanate, as the number reached 55,636 visitors from a total of 111,211 visitors to the various castles and forts of the Sultanate.
The National Centre for Statistics and Information said: “The total number of visitors to the Sultanate’s castles and forts during the year amounted to 111,211 people, as the number of visitors decreased by 17 per cent compared to 2020, and Nizwa Castle ranked first in terms of the number of visitors with 55,636 visitors, and Tharmad Fort recorded the lowest number of visitors with only 16 people choosing to visit.”
