Salalah: The Tent Pegging Championship will kick off on Tuesday at the equestrian ground at the Plain of Atin, within the activities of the Equestrian Week, organised by Oman Equestrian Federation.
Ten teams from the government cavalry units and the wilayats of the Sultanate will participate in the two-day championship with a total of 40 horse riders from the Royal Cavalry (two teams), Police Cavalry Headquarters, Royal Guard of Oman’s cavalry, Al Namir School, S3 Stables, Al Mudhaibi Equestrian Committee, Sohar Stables and Dhofar Equestrian Committee.
The activities of the Equestrian Week in Dhofar will conclude on Wednesday, under the patronage of Dr. Ahmed bin Mohsin Al Ghassani, Chairman of Dhofar Municipality.
The conclusion of the event will see performance of horse traditional sports.
