Oman’s participation at the summit was warmly welcomed by a diverse audience including a number of young people from the GCC states, Morocco and Palestine. The main topics discussed at the summit throughout the week were the Palestinian cause, the challenges facing Europe as a result of refugees fleeing conflict zones, and the need for the new US administration to rebuild the trust of their regional allies. The summit analysed the complexity of the Middle East Mediterranean Region, contextualising its current developments in global history and prompting a broader reflection on contemporary challenges. The participants noted that this region has a significant impact on international dynamics, and on Europe and its political structures. — ONA
