Muscat: The shrimp fishing season will start in the Sultanate of Oman on September 1, 2022 and will go on till November 30, 2022.
“The Ministry of Agricultural, Fisheries and Water Resources announces the start of the shrimp fishing season for this year 2022, starting from Thursday, September 1 until the end of November, for three consecutive months,” the ministry said in a statement.
The Ministry thanked the fishermen for their commitment during the period of the ban on shrimp fishing and trading, and stressed the importance of adhering to the specified fishing period, and using authorised fishing methods, in order to preserve and sustain the shrimp stock.
