Muscat: A team of researchers from the University of Nizwa received a patent for a colon-targeted capsule.
The asymmetric membrane capsular can treat bowel diseases, including irritable bowel syndrome, ulcerative colitis, and Crohn’s disease, according to the university.
“The capsule contains nano-sized budesonide prodrugs, released in a controlled manner only when it reaches the colon,”.the university said in a statement.
