Muscat: The Ministry of Social Development confirms that it is following the video clip circulating on social media platforms about a child being subjected to physical abuse.
The Ministry published a statement said: “The ministry intervened immediately upon receiving the notification on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, through the representative of child protection, as it coordinated with the concerned authorities, took the necessary legal measures, and detained the offenders.
“As we assure everyone that the child’s health condition is in a safe and stable condition, the Ministry is following up the child’s condition with the competent authorities. We affirm our pursuit and interest in the rights of the child,” the ministry added.
It is worth noting that the ministry receives reports of cases of abuse against children through the child protection line 1100 and the ministry’s call center 1555.
