Dammam (KSA): The 79th Meeting of the Committee of Governors of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) States’ Central Banks discussed yesterday the recommendations of the committees and teams under supervision of the governors’ committees concerned with the payments system of the GCC States.
They also discussed the issues of supervision and control on the banking service in the GCC States, the technologies in the banking sector and the integration initiatives in the field.
The meeting discussed exchange of information in cyber security for the banking sector and the GCC States’ efforts to combating money laundering and financing terrorism and other issues related to monetary and banking activities.
The meeting was acquainted with the developments and actions taken by the Gulf Monetary Council during the past period. The meeting also reviewed the latest monetary and financial developments in the Gulf Cooperation Council states.
