Kuwaiti Cabinet submits resignation to HH the Amir

Kuwait: The Kuwaiti Government has submitted its resignation to His Highness the Amir Shaikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, a senior official announced on Saturday.

The announcement was made by the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Oil, Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs and the Acting Minister of State for National Assembly Affairs, Dr. Mohammad Al-Fares, following an extraordinary cabinet session, held at Seif Palace, Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported.

Minister al-Fares said in a statement to KUNA following the special session, chaired by His Highness the Prime Minister Shaikh Ahmad Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, that the cabinet had referred its resignation to His Highness the Amir following declaration of the parliamentary elections’ results, in line with Kuwait Constitution.

He added that the ministers had adopted a draft decree calling on the National Assembly to hold the first regular session of the 17th legislative term on October 11. It was also referred to His Highness the Amir.
