The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth organised recently a coaching course on delivering the basics and coaching fundamentals for the junior volleyball teams. The course was delivered by Dr Shihab al Deen al Riyami, FIVB international coach instructor.
The three-day course focused on different topics as the first of training highlighted on the theoretical side of long-term athlete development programme while in the following day all the participants implemented the theoretical training in a practical session. On third day of the programme, the course director instructed the participated coaches on the main features and factors to improve the athletes for the long-term programme.
The coaching course was part of the Ministry’s plan to increase the coaching staff of the junior sporting centres, build up the technical capability of the domestic courses and develop the recent graduates of sports teachers with more technical experience.
