ROHM to present concert on Omani Women’s Day

Muscat: The Royal Opera House Muscat (ROHM) will present the beloved annual concert, Omani Women’s Day on 17 October 2022.

This much anticipated annual event, presented to audiences to coincide with the Omani Women’s Day, has always been an opportunity for everyone to come together in a celebration of the wonderful women both in this country and across the world.

In 2022, ROHM presents a concert which celebrates the women involved in music in Oman. Women now making up more than 30% of the Royal Oman Symphony Orchestra, and the establishment of the first Royal Ensemble for Music and Folklore where women’s engagement in a traditionally male genre of folk music is promoted.

Finally, the events marking the occasions is also the participation of the special guest artist, Kuwaiti born, Rawan Behbehani, a pianist of international standing, demonstrating a rare and an extraordinary talent from an incredibly young age.

The concert has been programmed to present music which encompasses traditional sounds of the nation’s heritage and classical music from the world stage performed by a talented host of musicians from Oman and beyond.
