Muscat: The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth (MCSY) has unveiled details of the Club Cultural Innovation Contest 2021-2022.
With its new outlook compatible with Oman Vision 2040, the contest covers 10 literary innovation areas, including short story, classical poetry, duo-drama, Bedouin folklore, modern art and mobile photography.
The contest also covers digital designing (using smartphone applications), which targets young people aged 10-30 years.
Sayyid Said Sultan Al Busaidi, Culture Under-Secretary at the MCSY, who heads the contest committee, said that the competition seeks to promote cultural activities that appeal to youth and contribute to their cognitive and intellectual development.
He added that the contest also enhances the morale of young people, instills sound behavioural values in them and consolidates their innovation tendencies.
Meanwhile, Hisham Juma Al Sinani, Contest Director and Deputy Head of the Contest Committee, said that the competition will be conducted in three stages.
The first stage will be at the level of clubs (December 1 October to 31, 2021), the second at the level of governorates (February 1-28, 2022) and the third at the level of the Sultanate during March 2022.
