The mega prelims for both the Times of Oman Interschool Quiz, and its Arabic counterpart, Al Shabiba’s Musabakat Bayn Madaris, is set to start from Wednesday, October 26, 2022.
Muscat: Thousands of students from over 80 schools will take part in the final round of qualifiers to decide the finalists of the Times of Oman and Shabiba quizzes.
The mega prelims for both the Times of Oman Interschool Quiz, and its Arabic counterpart, Al Shabiba’s Musabakat Bayn Madaris, is set to start from Wednesday, October 26, 2022.
Schools will be fighting it out in both English and Arabic languages to win a seat at the Grand Finals which will take place on Friday, 28 October for English and on 29 October 2022 for Arabic at City Amphitheatre, Qurum.
This year, schools from Muscat, Seeb, Barka, Suwaiq, Sohar, Nizwa, Jalan, Sur, Buraimi, Salalah, Muladha and many more wilayats are participating.
Nearly 22 schools are participating in the quiz for the first time. The event which began in 1996, is by far the largest educational event in Oman.
The Arabic quiz, Al Shabiba – Musabakat Bayn Madaris, was introduced for the first time in Oman in 2019 by Orbit. This year the event is being organised and managed by Orbit Events Management (part of Orbit Leading Projects LLC), an Omani SME.

The most sought after Quiz Master from India, ‘Pick Brain’ Giri, who has become synonymous with Times of Oman Inter School Quiz, arrived in Muscat from India on Tuesday evening to conduct the English Quiz.
To conduct the Arabic Quiz, a dynamic young Omani, Quiz Master Faiz Ibrahim Al Mamari was introduced in 2019 who won everyone’s heart. Faiz is a certified coach, trainer, author and an award-winning public speaker, with a great sense of humour. His stage presence and chemistry with children and audience will make the Arabic Quiz dear to all once again.
