Oman’s oil exports to Japan records 172% growth

Oman’s oil exports to Japan recorded a remarkable growth of 172.1 per cent to reach 9.21 million barrels until the end-September, compared to the same period last year. It increased by 801,500 barrels compared to until end-August 2022 with 8.41 million barrels.

Meanwhile, oil exports to South Korea increased by 42.5 per cent during this period. Until end of August 2022, oil exports to South Korea increased by 68.7 per cent.

The Sultanate of Oman’s total oil exports witness an increase of 14.6 per cent until the end of September, compared to the same period last year.

The Sultanate of Oman’s production of crude oil and oil condensates increased by 10.4 per cent until the end of September, to reach 289,785,600 barrels, according to data issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI). Until August 2022, Oman’s total crude oil and oil condensate production reach 257,034,700 barrels.

Crude oil production alone recorded an increase of 14.1 per cent during this period, while production of oil condensate decreased by 2 per cent until the end of September compared to the same period in 2021.

The average price of Omani crude oil also recorded a 58 per cent increase until the end of September 2022 to reach $96.2 per barrel, compared to $60.9 per barrel at the end of September 2021. The average daily oil production increased by 10.4 per cent until the end of September 2022 compared to the previous period. Same from last year.

On the other hand, natural gas production (including imports) in the Sultanate of Oman until the end of last September witnessed an increase of 16.4 per cent to reach 39.2 billion cubic metres.

Data issued by the NCSI indicated an increase in natural gas consumption in industrial areas by 28.6 per cent, industrial projects by 19.3 per cent, oil fields by 12.5 per cent and power plants by 11.9 per cent.
