1. Trash me, but it’ll cost USD 8: Musk on blue tick fee

Washington [US], November 5 (ANI): Seems like Twitter’s new boss Elon Musk does not get affected by the criticism he has been receiving over his decision to charge Twitter users to get verified accounts.

On Saturday, Musk took to Twitter and reiterated his stance on the blue tick fee. “Trash me all day, but it’ll cost $8,” he tweeted.

After Musk became the new CEO of Twitter, reports circulated on social media that stated the microblogging site would charge USD 20 per month for blue verification badge. On Tuesday, Musk confirmed the reports and announced that the company will charge USD 8 a month for Twitter’s subscription service with priority in replies, mentions, and searches.

2. Health Minister receives Leading Physician Award

His Excellency Dr Hilal bin Ali Al Sabti, Minister of Health, received the Leading Physician Award from the International Accreditation Council for Higher Medical Education in the United States of America.

The award came for his active role in promoting medical education, employing teaching methods, innovation and scientific research, and raising the quality of programmes offered through the international accreditation for higher medical education during his presidency of the Omani Medical Specialties Board.

3. Omani team wins 2nd place in World Tour Pro Beach Future Oman

The Sultanate national team of beach volleyball, Mazen Al-Hashemi and Hood Al-Jalboubi, achieved second place in the World Tour Pro Beach Future Oman, after losing in the final match with the Chinese team.

The technical observer of the Turkish International Volleyball Federation, Oz Degermenci, praised the level of organisation of the tournament, stressing the ability of the Sultanate of Oman to host various international sporting events, especially of a mass nature such as beach volleyball competitions.
