Muscat: More than 60,000 school teachers and administrators will start work in schools across Oman as new academic year begins from September 12, 2021.
The supervisors, members of the administrative and teaching bodies, and support staff in schools across Oman will start their new academic year (2021/ 2022) from Sunday, September 12, 2021 along with precautionary measures taken by the Ministry of Education in cooperation with the Ministry of Health. Tremendous efforts are being made to create a healthy and safe environment in schools to limit the spread of COVID-19.
According to the Oman News Agency, the number of teachers this year in government schools is expected to reach 56,569, which includes 17,881 male and 38,688 female teachers, and with an Omanisation rate of 84.8 per cent. The number of administrators and technicians in schools is estimated at 10,878, with an Omanisation rate of 99.8 per cent.
