Big Bus is back in Muscat

With the onset of the winter season, Big Bus is back in Muscat after a gap of more than two years. It is catering to the transport needs of tourists, who love to travel in groups and look for economical yet decent transport options.

The Big Bus Tours offers sightseeing tours of Muscat on open top double-decker buses. Tourists from Europe are seen enjoying the warmth of winter in Muscat.

Most tourists prefer boarding the Big Bus at Muttrah Souq and taking rounds of the city depending on their choice of places and time in hand.

Amalia, a tourist from Germany, admitted to stepping out of Germany after two-and-a-half years due to the Covid-19 pandemic. She came to Muscat along with her parents. All three are first-timers and are enjoying winter in Muscat.

“Because the temperature in our country is as low as zero degree Celsius and even in minus. Here in Muscat, it is decent 28 degrees, sunny and full of natural and modern attractions,” she said.

Amalia and her parents enjoyed the services of the Big Bus Tours. She liked the transport provider’s planning and choice of stops.

“It is lovely to move in Big Bus and see ‘majestic Muscat’. The sightseeing was interesting from Muttrah Souq, Fort, Royal Opera House and Council of Oman, which are modern masterpieces of the country,” she said.

The first Big Bus Tour service was launched in Oman in 2012 when Muscat was declared the Arab world’s Cultural Capital.

The Muscat Big Bus Tour operators have carefully designed route that showcases key Muscat landmarks.

“The sites include Muttrah Souq, the Historic Old Quarter, 16th century Al Mirani Fort and the modern Council of Oman building. You’ll also get to enjoy panoramic views of Muscat’s stunning craggy mountain range and winding coastline. Discover your own favourites amidst Muscat’s must-sees as well, with 24 and 48-hour tickets giving you the opportunity to delve into the city’s unique culture and heritage,” said Big Bus digital brochure meant for the bus visitors.
